Fischer Single Action Pedal Harp Model 80

A tradition, further developed

Fischer Single Action Pedal Harp Model 80

This time-proven model stands for the name Fischer-Harps.
With its smooth-running rotary disc-mechanics, the Model 80 was introduced in 1980. Well over a thousand of these harps have been made and they are a symbol for the reliability and the robustness of Fischer-Harps.

Solid Soundboard

The solid soundboard made from spruce, which has grown slowly at high altitudes, guarantees a good tone. A special cutting technique is necessary to obtain a soundboard with vertical growth rings in the wood. This is protected with a thin maple or white beech veneer.

Stringing: 37 strings, synthetic / steel
Range: B1 - c''''
Mechanics: 7 pedals
Disc-mechanics
Finish: Light cherry,
chestnut brown or
dark-stained
Accessories: Transport cover
Harp transport system
Height: 164 cm high

Harp neck

The harp neck is made from bonded, vertically grained beech and is therefore torsion-free and break resistant. This also anchors the mechanics and helps to ensure that the tuners are seated perfectly.

Harp pillar

The harp pillar is designed to be torsion-free. It can easily sustain a permanent load of 600 kg of string tension.

Smooth, precision mechanics

The smooth, precision disc-mechanics are mounted in brass sockets bedded with nylon. The Nirosta steel shafts (V2A) and spring steel coatings are very long lasting and maintenance-free. Adjustable lathe saddles allow precise control of semitones. All visible metal parts are copper-plated or nickel-plated and can be gold-plated upon request (extra charge).

Pedal box

The pedal box is lined around the pedals with woven felt. The use of Teflon sockets guarantees consistently smooth pedal latching without abrasion of the felt and thus long life with low maintenance.

Angular body

The body of the model 80 (80 and 80 G) harp is formed in the traditional way from bonded boards. The body is anchored inside with cross members for reinforcement before the spruce soundboard is attached. Since the beginning of our harp construction we have manufactured the body in this way. It has proven itself and will ensure robust and reliable resonation over decades.
Model 80 and Model 2000 differ in the body shape
